Have taken my car (1.2 16v Corsa T Reg 99) in for an MOT and to replace the front disc pads, was £80 all in.
They have just got back to me saying that two new CV boots and alignment need to be also, with the final cost being £218.
Firstly, a new CV boot was replaced on the drivers side about a year and half (maybe two years tops), so it seems a bit fishy. And even if they do need to be replaced, does it sound like a good price - 138 quid for two CV boots and alignment?
cheers guys

find out wether they are the wrap around boots or proper replacements. wrap arounds take 20 mins to replace, proper replacements take a lot longer

the ones on my mates evo 4 are just like changing the plugs in the top on an XE, take about 15 mins tops, i assume the plugs on an evo are no different to normal plugs?

they were propper boots, not slip on's and were durable/soft/flexible boots rather than the shite hard jobbies vauxhall used last time - something about the metal band coming off and not being able to clip it back up without the clip coming away on full lock.
does seem a lot of money, but its fixed now....new pads still havent solved my spongy brakes though

all you needed was some new cv boot clips
no need for boots
corsa c's from 02 to 03 had a bad batch of cv boot clips
im forever replacing the clips on em
think we charge 0.3 of an hour a side plus clip plus a tube of grease to repack the joint
£20 max a side

sounds like you could just need the whole system bleeding. seeing they obviously didnt find any cracks/holes in the brake lines on the MOT

Corsa c boots are crap
Trying to reclip the plastic boots is pointless much better to replace them with rubber ones but wouldnt expect it to be no more than £80 ish.
