There is a place near me that advertises £99 resprays I don't think their finishes will be quite 'concours'

Yea Usually you will be looking at around £1000 for a decent full colour respray, Some places do it cheaper but it wont be of the same quality, If your car is standard or close to it i would consider just selling up and buying a white car as a more cost effective option.
Mine is currently in my mates bodyshop and he is doing a same colour respray(white pearl) and alot of other bits n bobs and custom work to it, which shouyld be costing around 1800/2000 and i am getting it done for £800 and his work is top notch........
TIP: Befriend Somebody who owns a bodyshop

Yea Same with mine, He basically told me what he thught would look best and i agreed, even half way through now he is doing extra bits here and there at no extra cost, He takes real pride in what he does, I feel almost guilty as I've taken up about 2 weeks of labour and he still hasnt finished
Going to see how he is getting on on tuesday as i haven't seen any progress since i dropped the car off, should be ready for spraying by then i think.
Quick list of tings he is doing that i can remember:
Custom chop and reshape & mod Astra bumper to fit my Corsa (never seen this bumper before but it looks aggressive.
Custom chop and mount Sideskirts (also ones i have never seen before...) but I'm not sure whether they are to my tatse but will se when they are on the car
Flair rear wheel Arch's And fit Wider Arch's Front/Back
De-lock/Wiper boot & refit and smooth Focus spoiler to Sri/GSi Spoiler
Extend & 'Badboy' the Bonnet
& a few Other things besides.... then straight off to fit an X16XE untill i can afford some real power

what sort of power do the X16XE have because i have a C20XE corsa and IMO if you can get the X16XE to the same sort of power it will be better as I find 20XE are a bit front heavy. just my 2p worth

mine is running 165bhp.
dunno how much it would cost to get the extra 50-60 bhp but if you could manage it, it would be a lot quicker round the twisties.
