Bit worrying if you ask me, mine was recalled and repaired. But could someone please tell me where the abs is located under the bonnet as i want to check to make sure the wires arent exposed.

Still rather have a Vauxhall over Ford anyway.
Tarrantino - if it's anything like ABS on Corsa B's, it'll be a black box with green wires/pipes coming out of it

i was reading a review on a reno yesterday
common thing to look for
the electrics play up
windows, seats, ignition,
the manual box can go bang
the auto loses pressure or somthing and blow a hole in it
the engines weather petrol or diels can throw belts, crack heads, and generally fall apart.
only plus point i seen was they have good brakes. so after everything has fell apart, youll still be able to stop. thats reasurring

I've yet to see a Vaux or Ford spit a piston one hour after owning it
P.S I seen a 306 GTi-6 do it

have you seen a tensioner let go after 4000miles on an x14xe, mine did fucked the engine. Bought an x16xe and stem seals went, HG also went sold that, got vauxhall van which has done 98k and is on its 2nd engine

Lol no but I hear about it alot. The old Phase II engines were the best. Bullet proof as fuck. Valvers with Coscast heads too. Ecotec's are absolutely shite.
The C20XE with Coscast head is in my top list of favourite engines along with Zetec, Duratec (inc. V6), 20SEH and VTS lump

the problem with the abs recalls were the garages were not correctly soldering the earth connections or checking the abs multiplug for corrosion
I had a guy from vauxhall come round to check one of my abs reworks and got the a ok
good job really as I have done about 350 abs recalls!
