is this possible?
I'm in a sky contract for tv and broadband at home, but i'm just moving into my new house.
Are there any alternatives to paying bt £11/month for line rental when i wont ever use it for calls? seems a bit of a waste.
Probably not any further options, but i thought one of you guys might know.
Can you get completely wireless broadband?
And if you can, will Sky let you run there box without a phone connection?
cheers

It's breaking the sky contract if you don't have it plugged in afaik but I doubt they'd notice.
http://www.samknows.com , put your postcode in and see what the options are.

Your only contracted to have it connected for the first 12 months anyway. After that you can disconnect it. However I'd doubt they would notice.

Ours has never been plugged in, the only time it was was when the bloke intalled it right at the start.
He unplugged it.

Of course they notice
We have sky multi-room so contractually it has to be connected to the phone at all times, even after 12months.
If it's been uplugged for a few weeks they are onto me straight away threatening to terminate service if it's no plugged in.

Yes, but to think sky "just won't notice" is rather amusing.
Either you're not gripped because you don't need to be, or you are gripped because you're supposed to. There's no 'getting away with it' imo.

We had Sky+ and Multiroom and Sky didn't bother when the Sky+ (which was the 2nd box) got unplugged. For a basic account, as said, it only needs to be connected for the first 12 months anyway.
