having read on the UEFA site its for the team directly behind the last UEFA Cup qualifying spot, so would of been offered to Reading and Portsmouth before Blackburn got the chance.

I think thats right anyway!

You have to apply by January I think. Bolton Spurs and Blackburn applied but the first 2 got in automatically so then the next team was Blackburn.

Right more checking...

There is no deadline it just says 'in good time' before the comp.

A max. of 49 clubs can take part in the comp with only clubs finishing in the 4 places under the UEFA Cup places. More than one club can take part from each country but it will be on a position finshed basis if more than 49 apply.

Ok well they were the teams that applied.

Portsmouth and Reading didnt otherwise they would have got in instead

Remember the days when Crystal Palace and Wimbledon were in it

That was when no-one cared about it, now its seen as easy entry into Europe
