I know your allowed to MOT a month early, however im going away for 3 months and my mum's car's MOT will expire mid July.

would there be any problem MOT'ing and showing the old certificate to the tester and still get 13 months from today or whenever it pass's

I think they can only do a few weeks forward, i dont think they can go as far forward as that.

how early can u mot a car? myn is due in july so does that mean start of june i can take it for one?

if so it would help me out alot!

can re-mot at anytime, we have just had a car mot's that had 6 months left on, was just done to give the buyer a full mot.

perfect, its just because i always have to turn down the fuel pump for it to pass emissions and i dont think my mum will enjoy doing that. good old isuzu td

You'll only get 13 months if you do it 28 days before old one expires, any longer & you'll get 12 months on the new one.

to be honest im not bothered as long as the MOT doesnt run out while im away thats the most important thing

thanks failed on

illegal headlights - ebay cheapie's
illegal sidelights - all the orange coating has come off
no supply to washer jets - checked everything but completely forgot to pop this up

yeah i had mine done with 9 months left, cause i had 34k miles clocks in and needed to get the mot certificate back to the standard 87k
