My LET corsa has been missing in 4th and 5th gear. A guy has looked at it for me and he reckons it's definately overboosting. He says the boost can't be turned down from the ecu and the turbo needs regulated? Has this happened anyone? Or have any of you any ideas on this?

what is it boosting? then what is it overboosting too?

amal valve will be shot most likely. a shaged actuator would cause it to underboost but youl need to fit a gauge and see what its doing

small cylinder shaped thing near afm with 2 vacuum pipes going to it

is it abt 1" by 1" size? If thats it there's one pipe going to it and place fo another 2 on other end but none in them?

well there is a vac pipe coming from the actuator, and one from the turbo, they are supposed to go to that. or does it run a bleed valve?

had a wee look there the pipe coming from the actuator goes nowhere. Would that be where my problem lies?

just hanging? it should go to the amal valve, and one off the turbo should aswell. which way round the go i cannot tell you lol as ive forgotten, mine has had no vac pipes on it for years

on that valve at on end there is place for 1 pipe and 2 on the other. The end with one has a pipe on it which to a larger pipe that goes to rocker cover and other end down to air intake on turbo. There is a small pipe coming from the actuator and one from directly under it on the turbo these are goin to nothin?

amal valve also called charge pressure bypass valve if you ever get it as a fault code.
