I am trying to source an X16XE Engine for somebody Yet i have found an X16XEL Cheap, From what I've read only the Inlet manifold is different so if i was to change this would it effectively be an X16XE and produce teh same power?
Also Upon changing the Inlet Would the Original ECU from the XEL Astra suffice ?
Cheers.. As much info as possible provided would be very helpfull
EDIT: Were the X16XE engines only used in Corsa's?

Head is different, the X16XEL head is the same as an X14XE one and has smaller ports than the X16XE.
Inlet is also different, and presumably, the ECU is, but it should run on the XEL one.
The X16XE was in the Corsa GSi (later ones), Sport and Astra 1.6 Sport (mk3)
An X16XEL with an X16XE inlet would make more power than an X16XEL, but less than an X16XE.

99bhp instead of 106bhp, torque is the same for both, 109 lb/ft.
The XEL is less tuneable though, as the head is restrictive compared to the XE one.
