how does the gearbox not foul the tiebar? i reckon mine is about 80mm at least now although i havnt measured it. it keeps making me think something isnt quite right although the engine is sitting parrelell in the bay etc and tyre sits equally in the wheel arch. do you guys think i should be looking elsewhere maybe?

it just doesnt. its not even that close to it either really. even when front end was 30mil or so lower than it is now it never touched. odd i guess?

the geometry for the tie bars and lower arms was slightly different on the Gsi's from the later corsas.
maybe thats why muppet hasnt had any problems

front end is abit low tbh. gona wind the coilovers up at the weekend to match the -40 springs in the rear. not that noticeable till you really look at it but i would guess the car sits equivilant to -60 springs on the front. would this effect the tiebar clearence though?
bought a set of front +rear poly bushes today so will be a good ecuse to take the front end apart. hopefully will improve handling aswell as it sometimes feels abit on the sloppy side.

by first impressions mines about the same. i think your car is just a freak of nature that slipped through the quality control system and landed in some poor sods hands years down the line. you lucky bagger

throw them in the bin and mount the tie bars on the bottom of the lower arm. put some spacers in so it dosnt crush them. all hail mr muppetsport!]

works perfectly. spacers i turned up were 31od 12.1 id x 21mm (x2) for the outer two ball joint bolts and 31od 12.1 id x24mm (x2) for the inner two as these seem to need to be slightly longer
