Car was handlign well with its new front discs, but developed a horrible blue smoke from the exhaust... i hope its a turbo, not the engine.

Did you rebuild the turbo when rebuilt the engine? could be turbo seals?

Impreza is about 400bhp.

I'm a bit heavier but was running a fair bit below max boost. Running 0.9'ish compared to max of 1.2'ish
