Trying to setup Outlook 2003 to collect emails from an AOL address.
Followed the AOL Online guide and this managed to get it to send emails with no problems, but having trouble sending any as cant connect to the server using 'imap.aol.com' which I was told to use.
And ideas?
And before anyone says ask AOL, I did. Was on to their 'Live Help' thing for 30mins and they are fucking useless. First sent me a copy of their online guide which I had told them I'd already used. Then told me it was Microsofts fault, which I told them it wasnt. Then told me I was wrong and should check the settings, which I had told them I had done 5 times already. Then told me they couldnt help. So I ended up having a massive go at them

I have my home computer set up to run AOL through Outlook 2003... I'd tell you more but I'm not there anymore, soz!

Im hoping it was just an error at their end with the server and might be fixed tomorrow, everything was set up right and was sending them fine so hope so!

AOL is an arse. Its at my parents though and my Dad wants Outlook on his laptop to pick up his emails so upto him I suppose...not my problem

have you set up out going to be smtp and imcomming as imap?
and changed the server port to 587?

i know aol used to block/filter a port to stop spam and it stopped some mail.
havnt used it with outlook before
