I'm off to see it on wednesday. Does that seem like quite a good price for what it is??

depends how low and what set up
-60 on just springs would
-40 on good springs and shocks would be perfect, will have a torsion bar rear axel any way being a small french car

Looks nice mate, but in my experience the 17's don't do the handling any favours on these. Personally I'd be getting 16's and a decent set of shocks and springs.

ive never thought lowering a car more than 40mm does anything for handling,
Its always been my intention to do the saxo 40mm all round, just never got round to it

Do you specifially want a full fat 172 or would you consider a Cup, if so this looks like a good buy.

No no torsion bar on these bad boys (unlike alot of french hatch's)
Id go for a set of clio cup shocks and a decent set of 40mm lowering springs.

Great car, my favourite hot hatch by a long way! Altho I would probably go for a Cup or even a Trophy if I could!

Personally I wouldn't change anything on these cars. Renault have spent a lot of money on developing the chassis and suspension to perform as well as it can. Why risk upsetting that?
I drive a 1.2 16v Clio and whilst it's not the fastest car out there, I can't fault the set up. I can get from point to point along country roads quicker in the Clio than in my Nova which has double the BHP. The Clio simply soaks up the bumps.
I'd also be getting a set of 172 alloys back on there.

true, Performance French Car mag put a set of £1200 Leda coilovers on a clio cup, had them pro set up and it made it slower round a track
