yep, turned my GSI on after goin for a quick pint and the warning and battery lights came on steering was very heavy. had a look at the fan belt first and it had come off. very slack but no splits/rips took it too my mechanic and he said there was a problem with the tensioner as it had a crack in it. anyone else came across this problem? any help? cheers lads

Fan belt.... What fan does it drive???
As for the tensioner cracked... could be, replace the auxillary belt and tensioner dude..
