Two day job very easy to do.
100m of 1.5mm two core and earth wire
earth sleeve
and a dozen junction boxes...
Finally no more lead wire

Im a qualified sparky.
Now in Australia originally from the uk, i teach all my apprentices to never use a junction box unless needed. which if the job is planned correctly you should never have too.
Plus there are a few ways to wire lights loop in system which is mainly used in the uk/scotland or feed at the switch which i prefer and is used in Australia. this way if you decide to add a light exhuast fan etc u just send a twin and earth from the switch.
J-box's are perfectly a legal way of terminating a cable but i personally dont think they are good practice.
Each to there own though.

thats what i meant. if you are going to rewire a lighting circuit then its the perfect oportunity to do away with all the junction boxes that have no doubt been added over the years.

they are ceiling roses so that different. thought you meant actual junction boxes.

not really as he's in Scotland so part p of the regs doesn't apply. its only England and Wales that have to comply.
