Hey,
my corsa sterro (it's the original one that comes with the corsa) is knackered, the front has been removed by the 4 pins, but the rest's stuck and wont come out.
i've tried levering it out from both side, and pushing from behind.
it's really irritating me cos i've just got a new CD player and can't get it in.
anyone know how to do it?
thanks,
tim

What I'm about to say helps if you have small hands.
Drop the ash tray, and get your hands behind it. Bear in mind that the cage (unlike aftermarket stereos) is the whole length of the stereo, so you'll have to push on bits that isn't the cage.
How I got mine out with the aid of the special keys/tools.

The clip is inside, thats why its hard to remove. I think i know where the problem is. It is very hard to take the stereo out of them cables. U need to use very much force from the back to push it out

no not really cuz You will break pins in cable... Try to push it really hard from the back. I remember when i was putting my Pionner in and i had to take out the old stereo... i almoste broke my finger when i have done it. Ask somebody to pull it with the tool of one side and u push it from back

There is a T20 screw right at the back. Get a torch and shine it to the back.
When you have undone that from the front on the TOP and BOTTOM squeeze the cage in the middle. Now pull it out a little.
Now with a long screwdriver you can pop the Block connector off and push the arms off the aerial to release that.
Now just pull the cage out, EASY.

round the back it's screwed to a plastic plate, which is the reason i can't get it out.
it's screwed from the back of the stereo though, so i can't just unscrew it from there.
does that mean i need to take the plastic plate off completely? cos to do that i'm gonna have to take off the plastic covering round the hand brake...?!

i wont be able to get a pic, there's no room.
ill try and explain best as i can;
the radio front is off, but the rest is completely stuck.
round the back the stereo is screwed into a black plastic plate, but as it's screwed from the stereo i can't undo it.

It isn't actually into the radio, the screw is holding the cage in.
Can you see the 4 clips that you are meant to release.
I meant a pic of the front of your radio.
Edit, whats left of it.
