I did this website a year or so for my dad. He wants me to update it and I want to make it better. However he's happy with the way it looks, but I think it could do with a bit of a re-vamp and a re-code as if you view the source it's all been done the old fasioned way! I now know CSS so I want to at least make the template in CSS and load the content more efficiently e.t.c...

Any ideas on how I could improve the site, without changing it too much

all the writing at the bottom gone! or if its needed make it white or give it its own page, try a nice border in blue for example the site i made for a company:

He made me put that there for the search engines, it was white, but he then thought that having text the same colour as the page background counts as spam and the search engine crawlers ignore the page. I want it gone really, but I don't know anyting about how search engines work to be honest.

im not sure on search engines but cant you put all that in the meta tags in the code

It already is, not sure why he wanted it all in the text too. I think it was along the lines of pages with more text on them get ranked higher than pages with less text on them.
