need a bit of help?
i was getting a metal to metal sortof crunching noise from the osf brake disk area when i turned right so i bought new, disks pads and a caliper as i figured the caliper was binding on.
fitted them tonight and it hasnt helped.
what else can it be?
CV joint is my next idea

help appreciated.

make sure the wheel bearing is tight

i think you have to get them pressed out and new one pressed in if it is that

take the split pin out the outer cv and do up the big castlated nut in the centre. think its about 32mm iirc. worth a go as its free

check the metal plate behind the disc. sometimes you have to bend it out abit to stop it rubbing

well..... the thing is, when i had my wheel off trying to figure out what the problem was the metal guard is the only thing i could see that could make a noise so i bent it out the way and its still doing the same, the noise is really loud sometimes btw.

should be cv then. ide try throwing grease in there incase its dry. if that dont doctor it prob get one for £30ish

just a thort, is your cv gaiter dry? the joints usualy knock when worn instead of scrape thats all

should be ok. a couple of hours ide of thought. easiest way is to split the bottom ball joint and leave the shaft in the box, saves time later on.

cars super coll btw. proper sleeper on the steelies

lol hopefully not gonna stay on the steelies too long, ad-sport my cv boot is split and i have the new boots there but was wary of taking the joints off so just greased it up lol. could be that

If its none of the above, i had a crunching noise from one of my front wheels turned out something had got into the wheel bearing.
