i need to work out a formula that would count the data in a list once sorted,
so if data was
id - contractor - work type
1 - a - elec
2 - b - plumb
3 - a - plumb
4 - b - elec
then i create a list so that i filter out jobs via a list and select elec to show i can get it to count with =COUNTIF(C3:C12,"*elec*") but how would i get it to count just a or just b
hope this makes sence if not let me know.
