you don’t need a licence to go on the water but you need a licence to have and operate a VHF radio, you will need to pay for the use of a slipway in a marina to get it on and off the water, if your not going to keep it on the water.

do you? I'm pretty sure you could find a public slip way to launch from.

We originally had a boat on a trailer, which we launched from a public slip way, (but it was properly pain in the ass)...

then we got a different boat and had it moored near our other house, then we sold that house and had it moored somewhere else.

Basic laws like speed limits in harbour, stay to the right of the boeys etc.

You don't need to pay for a slipway unless the water council/harbour master requires it.

Done a fair bit of boating and jetskiing.

Don't need a license, unsure about the radio requirement. There never was one when we were waterskiing.

Just a bit of commen sense, a bit of respect and safe usage.

Basically, find a slipway, find out if you can launch there, and launch. Most places will have a 5 or 8 knot rule out to a certain marker (will be showed by a bright bowy).

tbh, what do you want though? Water skiing? Cruising about? Seriously consider a jetski before a boat. Had both and the jetski was by far the better toy. Just couldn't really tow a water skier properly unless you've got a big engined ski. You can tow a ringo if you've got semi decent ski. And thats plenty of fun to cain your mates

Although they are sit downs, and are for men with too much womenness in them. Stand ups are where its at.

What you looking at boat wise?
