its not as dodgy not declaring but still isnt clever at all. Apparently in crashes with cars as long as your paperworks all fine its ok (not an excuse not to really as its still not valid)

If you're thinking you deffo wont get caught dont do it because your naive, if your cautious im not your mum - do it but its your problem.

If you can afford the insurance, declare it.

Yes, I hope you crash and burn, without injuring others.

will this be an easy conversion? How much would it cost?

you serious? if yes ask beardy on here. he did it. (without the turbos and iirc it had nos).

wouldn't do it without insurance. dont want to sound drastic / dramatic or anything, but if by accident you injure someone with your car , you'll end up working your ass off to pay him money! imho you'd better wait a bit, get some NCB and then get something faster! obviously everyone has his own opinion though

If he can't afford the insurance on a 1.8, I somehow doubt he has the cash to do a twin turbo 3.0 with nos

u can't afford insurance on a 1.6 and you're thinking about a 1.8

I wont be declaring it as a 1.8 though

Then your a cock and your also don't have valid insurance.

took the words right out of my mouth, if your carn't afford the insurance then don't bother - why risk being given fines and jail sentance when you could have just waited an extra year (or 2/3 etc) and been able to pay for it??

If i remember correctly i was told its actually weasier to get power out of the 1.8 block than the 2 litre for some reason.

Theyre still good engines, people just dont like them that much cos 'they only have 115bhp' - i thin its pretty alright to be honest!

edit - how much you getting it for?

[Edited on 20-08-2007 by dan_c4rsa]

Its the sri, out of a mk2 astra. Its 111bhp I think, gte version has 117 bhp

Im looking at getting it for under £100
