How can i make my corsa quieter/less noisey without reducing the performance?
I had no middle box and a backbox and it was too noisey. I now have a middle box and no back box (centre exit coming around the wheel well), its less noisey than it was before but still not quiet enough for my liking.
Best i can come up with is getting another middle box in there somewhere, but feel this will just be restricting and not so great apart from the noise reduction.
Thanks mucho.

a properly designed exhaust box wont reduce performance.
I had a single rear box on mine recently and it made a consistent 174-178 bhp. after running it in I realised it was too loud and fitted a large centre box, it made the same power on the dyno.

Where/what was the larger centre box from and how much was the reduction in noise?

I used one of our own centre boxes (tightly packed 5x12") and it made a huge difference.

Is a standard backbox any more restrictive than an aftermarket backbox?

yes, due to the design of the baffles and the sound deadening material wont be tight so gasses will escape into the box easier and slow gas speed down.

How detrimental to performance are we talking here? Are there any backboxes for sale that are as quiet as a standard box?
I'm thinking:
Option 1 - One middle box and standard backbox
if not quiet enough,
Option 2 - Two middle boxes and standard backbox
or,
Option 3 - One larger/better sound reducing middlebox (over standard corsa middle box) coupled with either a standard corsa backbox or a very quiet aftermarket backbox if i can find one.
Whats my best route to take, 3?
