My boss has opened some mail that came to work for me. He's a bit of a badger & im not happy about it, its been added to the long list of things he's done/does that he shouldnt

Is it illegal to open someone elses mail? It was very clearly addressed to me

If it is private and confidential i believe so.

But otherwise as he is your boss and it was delivered to work i think he may have been allowed, not 100% sure though.

Isn't this a bit of a talking point and people aren't sure if it is or not?

Irregardless of the legal issue it's a discrace he even contemplated it in the first place on a moral level.

Work post can be opend by any authorised officer of the business, that can include managerial level employees

So I think techinically he can unl;ess it was stricktly marked private and confidential but he probly shouldnt have!

It was a mobile phone bill, for some reason it got sent to my work instead of at home. Its annoyed me because he's only opened it to be a cunt

We have a 'post' room where all the post gets opened

Private and confidential letters get delivered to your desk unopened.

You could be selling people information and the letter was regarding that

(I know sending a letter about it would be silly)
