Right, you lot are the car experts and most likely, between you all, will have driven (or have opinions on) most 1.6 hatches so, hopefully without starting WW3, I will ask you first.
Budget of £2k for car, needs to be economical, reliable and easy to maintain. Only basic mods to be done to car, so doesnt have to have a huge range of modification accessories available.
So, I can think of things like.... another Corsa, Saxo, Colt Mirage, Civic, lol: Maybe even a Nova. I think Jay, Xtremewheels, has that as his comment (do they do a 1.6 Nova?)
Polite suggestions welcome, oh, and which sites are best for mechanical reviews?

Proton GTI... Sold mine for £2200
Lotus Handling. Mitsubishi engine and running gear.
Me and my m8 highly recommend them and would have another.
He now drives a 401bhp P1 and me a 380bhp Evo VIII MR
