Right what is need for these...As the engine is in the shed and im rebuilding im gonna carb it aswell..Cant really afford tb's tbh..

Also what about cams? what should i go for..? Also with the Rpm Still work?

I was told that the rpm on the dash doesnt work...

but from ur response i guess its bolloxs

rpm comes from the coil, if the coil works.........etc

and the coil must work for you to have the rpm's

shoping list would include

inlet manifold
throttle linkage
a filter of some sort
a dizzy (think you can use one of an old cav)
few hoses may need changing

aye can use the big block cav 1600 one, need the coil and amp aswell. or you can get a standalone ignition only ecu for a couple hundred i think. i had a dta one on my nova

cost of carbs new aint that much cheaper than tb's and yuo really need to pay for a few hours rolling road time to get it running right anyway.


Bike bodies seem to be the in low cost solution at the moment.

I went on tuning.co.uk and clicked on calibra and engine section and it has the Following:

Vauxhall Inlet Manifold For Twin Carbs Or Throttle Bodies : 180quid

Cast aluminium inlet manifold to take either twin DCOE Weber carbs or throttle bodies. The manifold comes complete with fittings

Manifold To Heater Hose Connector : 9quid
If you don't already have one of these (for example if you're fitting carbs to an injection engine), you'll need one if you want to reconnect the heater hose to your new manifold.

Fuel Pressure Regulator: 60quid
When you change from fuel injection to carburettors it is possible to continue to use the injection fuel pump. The injection pump delivers a much higher pressure than the carburettors need but this pressure regulator allows you to 'dial in' the required fuel line pressure.

DCOE Twin Carb Linkage Kit: 44quid

So you've got your manifold on the engine, your carbs on the manifold and your filters on the carbs - all you need now is to connect it all to the throttle pedal and away you go! This kit includes all the parts you'll need.

Pipercross Air Filter To Suit Weber DCOE Carb : 47quid

Foam air filter to attach to your Weber DCOE carb. If you have twin carbs, you'll need two filters. Depth front to back is 65mm.

is that all i need to fit to my C20Xe plus a few other parts dizzy ect?

are motorbike tbs not supposed to give more power than carbs???

and be a similar cost

carbs are the way forward pal, there easy to set up, if theres a problem theres not alot it can be, no wires, just a choke cable and a throttle cable, only down side is that they need setting up regularly, Dependant on usage obviously. but 1 big plus side is the noise, i have a c20xe on twin webbers and the cav 1.6 dizzy, works a treat, sounds ace and makes quite a difference imo anyway!
