itll be worth more as a more standard car

service hsitory doesnt mean that much anymore really, i mean who here takes there car to a garage to have it serviced? i certainly dont, not when i can do the same, if not better job myself. plus its a 10 year old car, so the likely hood of finding a full service history on any 10 year old vauxhall is slim

I wouldnt buy a car with no service history? Or with very little anyway, how could i take a word of a complete stranger that he's a mechanic and has serviced it regularly?

on the other side of the argument the amount of cowboys about even in dealer garages is truly appalling these days

You can tell if it has been looked after by condition of fluids, noise, performance etc

if you do a check with someone like the aa where they check for everything wrong about the car then what would service history show? i had one done when i bought my car. you could always offer to go halfs with the person thinking of buying it on a check ect. ther about 100 odd quid i think tho, but it could mean selling it?!?!? then if not you got it to show people anyway!

i think i could sell it standard easily.

when i bought it the bloke said first person that sees it will but it and i think that still applies. i am an engineer and my dad has been in the motor trade for years and i know he is a very good mechanic as people tell me alot (i now work where he does) and he has been a master tech for years. he aint gonna let me buy a shit car
