When mine went for it's MOT, he told me my exhaust was borderline, sound wise. Although I'm getting annoyed with it on long journeys recently so when I get my next car I'll definately be opting for something quieter, but still louder than standard

Totally depends on the car though. I thought mine was loud until a TVR Cerbera trundled past me the other day, my teeth rattled. Some loud cars can be awe-inspiring.
