iv had it come on and engine still survive

i know what you mean but as i've said there were no signs,you dont expect the oil pump to fail that quick

this can cause oil pump too fail if any flaked bits get in the oil pump, no matter if pumps new or not.

well thats the problem then, i wouldnt blame the oil pump at all.

yep get rid, if u get it done again make sure the inside isnt touched at all, best thing too do is new pump again, clean sump out fully properly and should be ok, but i say engine seized so new engine then.

i've found an engine but i did clean the sump thoroughly.

yeah just dont fit that rocker cover back on with the new engine then and should be fine.
