just been for a drive in a gsi that i'm very close to buying but its got a slight rattle which is putting me off.its only when you rev the engine,then when it overruns there is a rattle around the alternator area.anyone have any idea wot this could be?any help appreciated!thanks!

cambelt not tensioned properly. Had exactly the same problem with mine

cheers mate! i take it its a pretty easy fix? thinking bout doing the cambelt anyway just so i know its done,how easy are these engines to work on?i'm used to working on my little sri 8valve so its all new to me!lol.

the Cambelt Tensioner will b knackered, mine does this at the moment. They are easy to work on really.
