My car has been converted to a c20xe but started life as a 1.0 12v, the car is ok to drive but don't feel anything spectacular, its ok low down the revs but seems to run out of steam from mid range to higher up the revs, is there anyway of finding out what fuel pump is fitted to the car as I don't know if the previous owner replaced the 1.0 one.

Through the town is murder as well, its always as if it's in too high a gear even at 35-40mph in third it starts juddering and only goes away once I put it into second, just feels a wee bit lifeless on acceleration, maybe its just me as I just got rid of my 254bhp rover coupe turbo for the corsa but I expected a little more from it.

Any suggestions on why it might feel down on power would be much appreciated

if your used to driving something faster than a c20xe then you will find it feels slower.

also has the car had a decent service recently?

plugs, leads, oil, filter and belts a week after I got it.
My mate used to have a 20xe nova and even he says it feels lifeless, makes alot of noise but seems to go nowhere.
What would it drive like if it was underfuelling? low down revs are brilliant but higher up it just runs out of power.

if you think its under fueling then id put it on a diag machine quickly, before you do some damage to the engine,

you may find something like the exhaust manifold gasket is blowing, mine did in my X14XE and it scuppered the power at the higher rpms.

might want to U2U someone like DAZ1985 as you might get a bit beter info of someone like him, i just know the general stuff tbh

Thanks for the help anyway, I will get a look in the morning, was just down at the local airfield and was side by side with a totally standard saxo vts the whole length of the road no difference in them what so ever, thought my corsa should have been a wee bit quicker

The engine management light comes on only when the ignition is on then goes off after the car starts. It just feels gutless, went onto 3 cylinders after I started it this morning but it went away after 10 seconds or so. Couldn't believe a vts was as quick as my corsa and the vts was totally standard GUTTED!!

The juddering is really bad not just a slight one, like a learner driver with bad clutch control! Really annoying actually.

if the engine managment light dosent stay on it might not be a fault with any of the sensors.have you tried new plugs, leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap?
