Been playing for a year now, play off of 19, handed in 4 competition cards and been cut 9 shots I got a few looks when i handed in a score card of a net 57 on a par 68 course

But yeh....go down local golf shop, see what second hand stuff they have on offer. I paid £130 for my irons, Titelist 812's ( i think?) and hit them better then i hit my old mans G5's

Deffo have lessons first as they will set up you properly from the start rather than you having developed your own swing and stance and for them to change it, it's easy to slip back into it and play like a tool again.

Best saying in golf is "drive for show...put for dough" No point being able to hit 300 yard drives if it takes you 2 iron shots, 2 chips and 3 putts on/around the green everytime.

This time of year is range practice for me, too fucking cold to walk round a big open space. Need to keep swinging to keep the rythem because as soon as that goes your game goes
