look cosmo, i said the amd 6000+ was better in gaming and some apps, and you said 'was it fuck', when i proved it was better you then suggested a better Intel, the whole point of getting that AMD was because its a better CPU for the money.. and based on that i opted for the AMD..

i know the top of the line Intel and the top of the line AMD, the intel is a better chip but there is about 250 - 300 difference in price..

im sticking with amd.

look Chris...it actually depends what you are going to be using it for, the mobo you use and probably more importantly (if your talking about gaming) the GPU you end up choosing. I have no doubt directly compared, at that price level, then the AMD is faster. But ask the majority of people in the industry and they would pick the Intel, purely because for the price you can make it much faster than the AMD, infact you could pick the lower priced one and push it must faster than a more expensive AMD.

and why not get vista??

my bro has it and it plays the things i want, why not get it??

most games that dont work can be made to work, i know it takes up 'more' ram, but come on at 4gb ram, like u care.

the only thing that would of stopped me getting vista would be compatability issues with games but these days 99% of games work anway.. and the 2 games i really play work 100%, and with direct X10 only availible on vista more and more games are going to use it anyway.

so for me.. vista is the chosen o/s

You can get an E6750 for £115 and thats faster than the 6000+ without any problems. Maybe my math is off but i'm fairly sure £115 isnt £250 more expensive than £98.

I'd also point out that i am not an Intel fanboy. I use an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ and have owned once since they very first launched in 2005. They were good processors then but these days they are very old news and i wouldnt not be buying one now.

I totally missed that line last night!! No wonder you're going on about it so much...its at most £20 more, but could probably search about and get it for around £10 more.

get a 32-bit vista.
my 64 bit causes nothing but problems 'cos most of the software runs in 32 bit emulation.

Vista is over hyped like a VTEC engine....

I read somewhere the other day that Dell are suing (spelling) Microsoft on loss of profit due to the fact that people are not bothering to buy PC's with Vista as standard and they are having to convert back to XP!!!
