Not only the cost, but you can guarantee if you put a game in the PC it'll come up with a problem and you'll have the dick around with drivers for a while or mess with the settings  There's nothing better than sticking a game in, knowing it's gonna work.

pc's dont necessarily have the best content these days, with downloadable content on the consoles.
also with a decent 7.1 home cinema system, you can get as good sound
also, you need a VERY good pc to beat it graphics wise, which costs loads.
my mate has just spent shit loads on a new custom pc and he swears the consoles still produce as good graphics that are smoother.
no doubt the pc is far more powerful capable of higher res, but stuff gets eaten up in os resources and the the fact with consoles they can develop for specific hardware has a lot to do with it.
my mate got directx errors when loading cod4 and had to mess around with driver updates before it worked

Agreed, Whats the point having to search around the internet for the latest drivers. I'd rather just start playing.
Plus, for the great performance, consoles are cheap!
