Decided i wanted to be a designer after fucking up my knee (which ruled out my primary jobs of police officer or martial arts instructor) so i got the a levels i needed and then went onto do a HND in graphic design, got an interview for a work placement 1 day a week whilst at college and when i graduated i covered someone for 2 weeks full time. After the 2 weeks they offered me the job full time so i took it to get my experience
Heh, everyone who works in some kind of computer design industry fucks up their knees, how strange! I do what i do because i taught myself, went to college for the piece of paper and to get abit more dexterity to it, finding it kinda boring however, and so so under paid its untrue.. I may have only been out of college for a year and a half now but ive been doing what I do for over 5 years and it just seems pointless if they cant take that into account

I know what you mean, I feel I lack a certain skill, to be a cut above the rest in something, I could use more money due to financial circumstances, im not in any debt but I have to help out paying a mortgage so need something more beneficial to me.

Market research consultant.
Left school after failing to be bothered about a GNVQ.
Started doing on the job learning for £60 per week with Royal & Sun Alliance whilst doing some shitty NVQ in office proceudres etc. Did a few roles there and eventually ended up doign market research and working with strategy function. Got loads of experience and a few trade specific qualitifications. Got sacked.
Now working agency side, basically carrying out all of the work that people doing my old job instruct us to do for them. More money in it this way
Not gonna do it forever but managed to get settled a bit now.
