My mate has both and the iphone is just sooo far ahead in terms of usability, he also put the phones side by side with camera on and yes the viewtys was more defined although the iphones look better due to the size of the screen.

iphones is a 2meg camera if i remember right, viewtys is 5.1meg so not much of a difference 
wish i didnt have my viewty now tho, gimmicks wore off

Iphone isn't all about features, so it's obvious that the Viewty is far better.
Personally I wouldn't have one, it's OK but I couldn't live with one for 18 months. Touch screen phones aren't too practical, the novelty wears off too soon
Camera is excellent though, as is the video capture.
They're £270 on pay & go so some kind of figure around that

Have you had either? As for the camera, as has already been discussed, mega pixels is useless, its the quality of the lense, and the iphone looks better side by side. I sure if you transfered the images to a computer and made them larger the viewty would not distort as much but actually on the phone theres no comparison.

i work for LG so i deal with viewtys all day every day. and the camera is far superior. specificatin wise the cost of the Iphone is massively overpriced for what "extras" it has

But thats just it, the iphone is not good for all of the features it has becasue lets face it it dosnt have many, its all about how slick it is to use and intergrate into your everyday lifestyle. If the viewty had a 2mp camera with no flash and video playback similar to the iphone it would just be disregarded, where the iphone is still succeeding.

im opposite. i never use the internet on my phone. i hate it with a passion. i ALWAYS using the camera on my phone on nights out and things though....

Try performing easy to use normal mobile functions like sending an mms or doing voice dialing!
if you are paying £270 for a device on a poor contract just because the menu is easy to use, either you rich or just plain stupid imo.
as for internet, its nothing new, im writing this from my nokia n80 Which is 18months old btw

No i mean that i use the internet all the time but not on my phone so therefore it would be very convenient. Also, the phone would be on PAYG on orange, not the O2 contract.

but if its got shit applications, poor camera and good internet then why not just buy a PDA or a laptop? internet connectivity and browsing isnt all that important on mobiles nowadays.

N95 has the best browser I've used, better than the iphone I think as the touch screen isn't practical

Because you cant carry a laptop around in your pocket and answer calls on it. If were going to be really honest i dont think any other phones avaliable at the moment are as aesthetically pleasing as the iphone is and image is a big thing in todays soceity.
