I ordered a Setanta CA Module and viewing card from Empire Direct, now I've realised that on freeview Setanta only gives you one channel I don't want it anymore.

I can't be arsed to send it back or eBay it TBH, what are the chances that I can take into somewhere like Argos or Currys and exchange it for some vouchers?

It's all sealed etc, i've not touched it.

I'd call Argos/Currys rather than going in the shop and making a fuss and getting accused of stealing stuff.

from working in retail for a long time, if u came into my shop with something sealed without a receipt id jog you on.

Because people only ever "loose" the receipt when its nicked or the other shop wont take it back!

depends on company policy, but you cant just blindly return goods that you cant garuntee are from your shop as it will be exploited. Plus alot of the things being returned will be christmas'y gifts that you wont be able to sell on.

Some companies will, but for e.g i worked for MVC and if you didnt have a receipt there was no refund or exhange full stop.

thats because at tesco you have to goto customer services to get the cd after you bought it

its a crap system and gave me a bit of a headache once, i was bought a game i already had and it was from tescos, i had the receipt etc and it was unused.

but because they keep the disks behind customer services, they have to take the polythene sealed wrapper off every game they sell.

because of this they were refusing to accept it back as i could have copied it.

i kicked up a bit of a fuss and explained it was there problem, not mine they take the seal off, and everywhere else like hmv i wouldnt have this issue as it would still be sealed, they exchanged it in the end

Well it's not like i'm trying to stitch anyone up, they will sell it at full price and I get vouchers which are going to be spent straight away in their store anyway.

Tescos dont do that locally here. Plastic security case is cracked off at the till and away you go. Contents are already present.
