I wouldn't bother with a 1.4 sport. I have a 1.6 16V sport and it aint all that fast. Just wait till you can whack a 2.0 XE or LET in there. Much more worth swapping a 1.2 for a measly 1.4 in my opinion

My 1.6 sport is ins group 10

Was thinking of putting a 2.0 in but would have to wait a couple of years for insurence to allow it but if did hat would just buy one with it all ready done ect, but wanted some thing bit quicker till then?

ah right. well in the case of insurance, you might be better off with a 1.4 then. Have a ring round and get some quotes first

Mods I would do would be lowered exhaust and filter and leave it at that with regard to the engine.

Inlet on a 1.4 along with a decent manifold and system will keep up with a 1.6. But my 1.4 was knackered and for some reason some of the lower inlet nuts were missing lol.

Oh ok so worth investing in the inlet and manifold then, would it be not worth paying that bit more for insurence for a 1.6 or just stay with he 1.4 and tinker a bit?

still cant feel much difference, and the hole idea of a car is to enjoy it, but if you cant feel the difference then you dont enjoy it anymore so rendering the other bhp useless?

you can see the difference on the road though

my 1.4 sport had 98bhp and against a 1.6 the 1.6 would still pull away quite easily once in 3rd
