looked into it but never been, smaller version of amsterdam really but the RLD and coffee shops are cheaper. alot of people say its better than amsterdam also told the hague and harlem are worth a trip.

i managed to find some mind blowing weed in amsterdam aswell just a case of avoiding the coffee shops aimed at tourists

Rotterdam is actually bigger than Amsterdam.

I wasn't impressed with Amsterdam when I went, you had to pay to pee in Macdonalds.

Had family and friends who lived in Rotterdam for a bit and it can be a good night out however it does not cater for foreigners in the same way as Amsterdam and English piss heads are generally met with hostility.

I cannot believe I smoke and never knew it was legal to smoke in rotterdam?

Shelly, probably went to the wrong parts. Amsterdam is a lovely place, very clean, always tidy. Just one or two dodgy areas (mostly center and RLD areas).

Like Carl, done Amsterdam like 6-7 times now. Wanna go somewhere different

And I hardly drink, so don't portrait the usual thug drunken english image

Amsterdam is less than an hour on the train from Rotterdam anyway, so if you find Rotters to be shit the first night, you can always move camp.

I had a better time in Amster, but was with a lamer group in Rotterdam, so never saw any of the fun parts

In the 7 years i've gone, i've never ever ever seen any needles on the floor..... God knows where you were

So, whats the score on Rotterdam, is it legal there? Is it like amsterdam where there are numerous coffee shops...

We're thinking a road trip on the bikes in 08, riding through france, up to holland, amsterdam. IF its only an hours train, its only 2 hours bike ride away....... interesting.

Anyone clear any info on the laws there? Coffee shops etc?

Is it not the same throughout Holland?
Wouldn't have thought they would de-restrict certain cities.
