My cd player only seems to turn on when i turn the key in the ignition to a certain point, and if i jog the steering wheel it turns off! its probably a loose connection.

Also it doesnt seem to save the settings on it.. any help?

im useless with electrics so pics would be helpful!

Not saving settings suggests you have the pernament and switched lives mixed up. Try swapping the red and yellow wires around at the back of the stereo!

Ye, not saving settings will be due to either not having a fixed perminent live to the unit or you don't have the ATT setting activated on it. This is just because the stereo resets every time you remove the key. But ye just try every combination of conections between the red and yellow wires, should sort it. What head unit is it?

O and yes the other problem will most likely be the result of a loose connection.

nah its red and orange wires!!!!! i got a cd player and it said warning to vauxhall and volkswagen owners.to retain settings swop oorange and red wires

It's red and yellow in most cases.

Ash, do you have a Soundmax, Sendai or Goodmans stereo? Thats the only ones I know of with red and orange.
