3 of my mates have put 100 quid on. It's from a very good source, McCarthy is from Barnsley so hopefully it will turn out to be reliable. he's 10 to 1 on VCbet (but it will only let you place a tenner) , but apparently labrookes and that have stopped taking bets. Venables is favorite but it is said that Bulgaria have offered him a load of coin.
Thought i'd share, I'm going to have a punt anyway so probbaly just jinxed it.

Take this or leave it.... I don't believe it but it didn't stop me sticking a tenner on it.. An uncle of mine works with some FAI personnel on occasion and apparently word is Mick McCarthy is coming back.. Can't believe I'm even posting it cos it does my head in when I read these "My Friends cousin says...." posts on other boards but that's what was passed on to me...

I see Mick McCarthy has been cut to 5-2 with Ladbrokes and 7-1 with Paddy Power. Also, there has been a move for him on the exchanges. Daniel McDonnell's piece in the Indo today suggests that he is hot on the heels of Houllier for the job. If the Magic Sign go 5-2 they miust know something!

breaking news is that Houlier doesn't want the job, O'Leary has rulled himself out too. Just hoping Big Mick gets it now, although i'm not very optimistic.
