Basically I cracked open my spare key the other day because it wouldnt start with it, cracking but no fuel getting through. Discovered that I dont have an immobizer chip in my key.

How do I go about getting a new chip for my car? Im gunna do the flip key jobbie - do I buy a key with a chip in it and have it VAGCOM'd to my car - dads given me his A3 spare key if that helps.

Maybe try seat, they could probably make a replica of your main key's chip, would be costly though?

If it's anything like the rest of the vags, buy a key off ebay and the guy will cut it for you, get vagcom and should be easy peasy.
