Wrong decision in my opnion. Owen may (have) be(en) a better player but he lacks the passion and emotion that Smithy shows in the game. I don't think Owen can get the players like Our Alan can.

He has only done it to go part way in making Owen happy considering the shite he gave him when England boss.

TBH with the amount Owen is injured someone else will be capt. more than him anyway!

Well lets be honest looking at the team sheet what other leaders do they have.

Everything owen said was fair to be honest.

I tempted to put a bet on that none of his first five signings will be a defender.

I not counting that as his signing he had been on trail.

It was just a case of shall we sign him go on then.

His first 5 siginings he does will not be a defender.

Alan Smith is an average player with a terrible attitude problem- not great attributes for a captain if you ask me!
