What does the stamp on the side of (bucket seats) mean?

Some say its when the seats go out of date......some say its when they were built

A select range of these bucket seats from each manufacturer are FIA approved. These bucket seats are stamped with the date the approval starts. The FIA approval then runs for a duration of 5 years. This is also how FIA approved harness belts work.
