if it goes thru insurance then they will no doubt write it off - leaving me at a big loss.

but there is no f*cking way i'm letting them have my irmscher interior bits and spax - i'm insured for it but i know that won't be added to the value.

never had an accident in 4 years before this either

Mate this was exactly the same as me, The damage to the Audi i hit, I could of payed for, as there was hardly any, but the woman posited that she was going to claim, Stupid Cow

the ronals were going back on in feb

probs not now

i have mint calibra leather i was going to fit aswell.

i've totally lost interest tbh, it looks like going thru insurance is the only option, if his damage is £300-400 and mine is £600-700, then it's not worth me even trying to settle outside of insurance...

Slam panels are pretty cheap but a bitch to fit. Insurance gives 6 hours just to fit a slam panel!

6 hours? ERR NOT A MISSION

ud be lucky to get 6 hours for hard hit benching and fitting a front panel to one.

is one of the wheels sitting further back in the arch than the other (on the side that took most of the damage) as a guide as to how hard its been hit chassis wise.

nothing other than the radiator and the power steering pump got hit on that side of the car - the nearside wing is not bent at all, just buckled the slam panel structurally.

the headlight, grille, bonnet and slam panel took all of the impact really.

it's so little damage but the cost of repair makes it not make sense to fix...

shame cos the rest of the car is in good condition...

they were stroking you. you could change a corsa front panel, straight forward cut off and replace with new one (rust repair for instance) in around an hour

not alot of work there tbh aslong as the legs and flitches are ok.

just looking at it just need a slam panle and bonnet, possibly hinges.

wings look ok and bumper is easily enough salvagable.

Its worth a try ringing the vicar or going to see him and give him a sob story and say you willing to pay him upfront for the damages.

He might be really nice about it.

Dont u work in a bodyshop so could get it done on the cheap anyway?

There is no divine obligation to use insurance. I'm sure if his car can be fixed to a satisfactory standard without a claim then he'll be happy.

The question is whether you can fix both cars for less than your premium will go up. Have you got proper quotes for his car?
