they are a moving part, normally powder coated i think...but can they be painted in waterbased piant ?

yeah, it might flake off in a few years, but powdercoat does too

i would of though powercoating would be a better choice, unless you can get a flexible paint, so it doesn't crack as easy when painted?

Mine are done in hammerite smooth, and its fine so far.

Dont really want yellow spring's tbh. maybe adding plastisizer to the paint might help ?

i realy want them arden blue with silver damper's

Yep, plastisizer is the way forward. It will allow the paint to flex with the spring, preventing it from cracking.

stavs even i wouldnt do that, you can prob get a powercoat very similar to arden blue

stavs theres a place in high wycombe that are quality at doing powdercoating, Sprayblast "01494 530854", they charge £10 per spring, call them up they may be able to sort you arden blue if thats your thing
