I was driving hard (no supprise there) when the power just disappered at about 4k. The revs dropped to 3k then back up again. I thought that the belt had snapped.
It has done something like this before but to fix it i just turned the engine off wait for a sec then start it up and all was ok.
I've been delivery driving tonight for the local indian so the car has been switched off and on plenty of times.

Thats the noise it was doing when i was in 3rd at 30 mph and put my foot down a little. If i slowly put my foot down then it is ok, ish.
I thought injectors. So Redex and driven 20 miles and still the same. well it's a little better.
The car has to turn over for about 5 secs before it'll fire up.
There seams to be a lack of power between 3k and 4k. More than usual. It just seams to be down all the way through the rev range. Although it can still redline ok.
It's a new tank as of August last year so very little crap if any in the tank. I've just filled it to the top tonight before this all happened with Shell normal fuel not Vpower.
My question is.... Does anyone have any ideas what it might be and what else to look out for?

Sounds a lot worse than a air leak etc to me.
And my engine ran fine even when i forgot plug the map sensor in,lol.
Id be checking fuel system(pump)
Also, ive seen a strange problem with a crank sensor bracket before, it had worked loose, and engine movement at about 4k rpm made the sensor vibrate. Which made the engine start dying.
So maybe check that too.

Yeah I'd have said that, especially the time it takes to fire up.
