just to show that it is better to buy than build

1988 E34 BMW M5 3.5ltr

Twice Kumho Championship winning car and too many victories to list.

Engine rebuilt before last race and remapped to schrick cams 381bhp @7000rpm. New gearbox and clutch before last race. BG developments front 4 pot callipers and disks. Front strut brace. Leda fully adjustable suspension, 2 sets of 15in wheels with Kumho tyres. 4 x 17in wheels with 8 Dunlop 210/620/17 slicks. Light weight front and rear bumpers, light weight boot and rear spoilers. Repainted complete inside and out and dry stored for last 6 years. All livery in vinyl!
£8500.

2007 Race Winnning Stock Hatch Citroen Saxo VTR for Sale.



The car over the winter was completely stripped, checked over for hidden damages, and lightened by taking all unnecessary bits out off the car and putting new components back on to it.

Car Comes With:

• Cobra revolution seat worth over £300

• EFI ECU - as used in some of the touring cars, now reckoned to be better than the leading Motec. Set up by one of the best tuning companies in the UK, Owen Developments, who also do a lot of touring car work.

• Engine is only 2 meetings old and produces 101bhp at the wheels. Built by Grace engineering.

• Fully adjustable brake bias valve fitted.

• Ohlin's Front suspension worth over £2000 from new and professionally set up by JTECH automotive who does a lot of Touring car and Britcar work.

• GAZ rear shocks

• Sparco roll cage

• VTS gearbox which is only 2 meetings old

• New roof fitted to reduce weight by replacing it with non sunroof version.

• Brembo discs & Carbon Lorraine pads

• VTS radiator to aid cooling

• Uprated rear torsion bar

• Momo race steering wheel

• Peugeot sport exhaust (new price: approx £700)

• 8 alloy Saxo wheels.

The car is completely ready to race; the last result came in the form of a 2nd place at Snetterton.

This season results: 8 podium finishes: 2 wins (1 heat win), 4 second places and 2 thirds along with a new lap record set at castle combed by over second.

381bhp from a 3.6 M5? sounds a bit optimistic to me.

I agree it's better to buy than build though.

I didn't think they were that far off that as standard anyway?

3.6 had 315bhp from the factory, 3.8 had 340.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems quite high to me

Mind you, the M88/1 in the M1 had 490bhp in the Procar series, with no forced induction, the S38 is an evolution of this, and the "3.6" models have the same capacity as the M88/1 in the M1, so it might be totally possible.

Yeh I saw that the other day Ian! not bad really for £19k!

A lot of the cars on that site are good value for money if you just want a track slag! but most will probably require trailering too and from the track and high maitenance.

The saxo above is crying out for a 16v lump, cam'd + TB'd lump.
