You should get a nice 330 Ci (petrol) for 10k maybe on a 2000 or 2001 plate, theres no chance he'll get an M3 tho, not even a high miler.

But if you were wouldn't you put that down?

Even so you drop the price by 1000 quid, not a third of its value. Tell your mate to take his stab proof vest when he goes to view it!

Yeah just where you said can get either an E36 or high mile E46 with high miles. High mile ones are still 15k!

"stab proof vest" I'm going with him....... if everything sounds ok on the phone and it passes an HPI test.
He said that he might look at M3's after this car, when ever he gets. But by then he could have some kids

Im in exactly the same boat, looking for a fun new car for around the same money.
Have considered the usual skyline ect.... but tbh they bore me regardless of how they drive.
At the moment im liking TVR Cerbera's and the old 1980s 911's.
Its surprising what you can get for fairly little money, cars I would never dream I'd be able to own. How ever you do need to do alot of research ect.... with teh olders ones.

Think an old TVR would be a bit of a reliability issue tbh.

I think any TVR would be a reliability issue lol. I personally dont care about reliability as im quite happy to keep fixing things so long as I have some fun.

depends which one it is, from what Ive found out, stay away from the ones that TVR tried to make themselves i.e. the speed six.
The rest are rover V8s which means very cheap parts and easy to work on. (apart from the cerbera as thats a bit more of a hardcore V8)

We looked at one today at Carcraft in leeds. He liked it a lot but it was £13,500.
Now has his eye on an S3.
