i have a quiestion- how have people got around the 'catch'. I mean you can pop the boot open but it has a double catch on corsas???

I didn't get around it, but if you use a button it will just keep the solenoid pushed out so you wouldnt any problems anyway. I use the alarm so i have to pull the boot up quickly before the motor drops power

I saw a basic Corsa, would have been a Merit I guess, that had the wiper hole smoothed already so that model didn't even come with a rear wiper if you can source one, might be a cheap option.

Don't know how common they are though

But semi-smooth ftw

i recently sold a metric tailgate for £10, im flame red and that didnt have the wiper hole, didnt even have one as standard, madness

cant go in boot for MOT

thats why they cant fail for no spare, as its usually in boot

If a tailgate didn't have a wiper hole in already it might be a factor tailgate. Some factor parts you have to drill a hole in for things like wipers, aerials etc.

they cant fail for no spare because theres no legal requiremnt for a spare, therefor they cant fail you for something thats not there

it has nothign to do with access to te boot

The tester must have easy access to the rear

This doesnt mean they have to move the seats to check

It will fail if the boot wont open

I saw a tailgate on a old corsa in a scrap yard with no rear wiper hole thought it had been smoothed over but rest of car was completley standard had all badges ect on should of brought it, dam
