I've always heard people rave on about how amazing Blade Runner is, and having never seen it, today I bought the Final Cut. I expected to be impressed... and wasn't. Seemed pretty dull tbh.
Am I missing something?

It's just you always see it on these Channel 4 type, Top 100 films with people saying it's great. I disagree.

All about the postmodernist theory. Blurring of fiction and reality, mixing of cultures, loss of metanarratives, idea of creating a spectacle. All that jazz.
But no, I wouldn't say it was great. Just was extremely original for its time.

I prefer the regualr version. Directors Cut ruined it.
