Just had a training session on Child Protection this morning.

Some of the facts made me feel quite sad.

Four common features of child protection cases are
1. The mental ill health or a parent/carer
2. Drug misuse
3. Sexual abuse
4. Physical abuse

Research indicates that approximately 33% of child sexual abuse is believed to be perpetrated by adolescent males.

The age of criminal responsibility is 10 years.

A male 'professional perpetrator' (e.g. someone who uses their work/position to gain access to and/or abuse children and young people) typically has between 41 and 50 victims before his sexual abuse in the work context is brought to attention.

You should NEVER photograph injuries observed on a child of abuse.

Between 1000 and 5000 allegations of child abuse are investigated in state schools each year.

Because they could get into the wrong hands I suppose and end up being part of the problem.

If you get what I am trying to say...

Yeah they should bring back the death penalty or lock them up for life imo. People like that don't change.
